(KLZA)-- An Atchison, Kansas woman escaped serious injury in a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday evening on Interstate-29 about 8 miles southeast of Mound City, Missouri.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says a northbound Chevy Suburban pulling a 16-foot enclosed utility trailer was slowly passing a car driven by 69-year-old Anne Shepard when she suddenly moved towards the passing lane and stopped to turn left into a median crossover.
In an attempt to avoid a collision, the driver of the Suburban swerved left and sideswiped Shepard’s car.
A tractor-trailer that had been following the Suburban in the driving lane swerved onto the right shoulder to avoid the collision.
Shepard was transported by private vehicle to a healthcare facility in Marysville, Missouri for treatment of minor injuries. Two passengers in her car were not hurt.
The driver of the Suburban, from Grand Forks, North Dakota, and a passenger in his vehicle were not injured.
