(KLZA)-- Superintendent Tim Heckenlively announced The Falls City Education Foundation annual Outstanding Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Years Awards during the opening session of the Falls City Public Schools Pre-Service on Monday, August 10.
Jamie Frederick, was presented the Outstanding Elementary Teacher of the Year Award. Mrs. Frederick is beginning her 15th year as an elementary teacher with the Falls City Public Schools. Mrs. Frederick’s current teaching assignment is Title I reading and math intervention.
Laurel Harling was the recipient of the Outstanding Secondary Teacher of the Year Award. Mrs. Harling is beginning her 22nd year with the Falls City Public Schools and is a mathematics and computer teacher at Falls City High School.
The purpose of this award is to to recognize excellence in teaching. The recipients of this award consistently demonstrate the ability to be creative leaders in developing instructional materials and teaching strategies, and have attained the respect and support of fellow colleagues, students, administrators, parents and patrons.
