(KLZA)_- The Pawnee City Council has approved a resolution approving a three-year renewal of city insurance for liability through the Nebraska League Association of Risk Management. Although renewal prices are not known, the city will receive a five-percent discount each year for their renewal.
A lengthy discussion was held with Burt deKoning concerning a ditch issue at his garden spot where water from the Pawnee City Library parking lot runs onto his property. Options including a land swap were discussed. A tube in the area will be cleaned out by the City and the City is to get a bid on a retaining wall on the east side of the Library parking lot.
A letter from City Attorney Joe Stehlik with his findings, concerning the Helen Callam Charitable Trust distribution was reviewed. The City has decided to use the money, amounting to just over $55,000 for clean up of nuisance properties.
