(KAIR)--Atchison city officials are preparing to gather this Monday afternoon for the fourth budget planning workshop this year.
The workshop is part of the process of preparing a budget for 2016, and City Manager Trey Cocking says the meeting will focus on items critical to the upcoming budget. “This really gets into the heart of our budget planning here. This is looking at the general fund, our capital improvement fund, and our equipment reserve fund...looking at those three funds to determine the size and scope of projects, determine the mill levy, determine how the city public safety functions operate...We will present an overview of the budget, we will present where we are now, where we are with current estimates, and then we will talk about how we want to move forward.”
The budget workshop will start immediately following the 4:30 regular meeting of the City Commission. Both meetings will take place in the Oak room in the Atchison Event Center.
