(KAIR)--EMS responses in Atchison County for the first quarter of 2015 are holding steady.
That, according to a report to County Commissioners by representatives from Techs Inc., the company that provides EMS service to the county.
Commission Chair Jeff Schuele says “the amount of runs in the western and eastern district were still holding about the same. We are still holding about ninety percent of runs...are still in the eastern district, which includes the city of Atchison west to Kingman Road. So that trend continues.”
Schuele adds that another trend Commissioners continue to see is the demand for two ambulances during peak response times.
Schuele says that all in all, the first quarter did not show anything unexpected, and Commissioners will continue to monitor the service, and if trends stay consistent, then they would look at the possibility of adding another ambulance full time in the eastern district.
Commissioners were also updated on the progress of the new ambulance that was approved for purchase in March. Schuele says it is expected to be in service within the next 90-120 days.
