(KNZA)--A broken window report at a Hiawatha law office leads police to an unexpected discovery: a deer trapped in the building.
According to a report from the Hiawatha Police Department, officers were called to the Finley, Miller, Cashman, and Schmitt law office, located at 117 South 6th Street, shortly before 10:00 Saturday morning.
When they arrived, police discovered that a deer had jumped through the window and remained in the building, trapped in a back room.
Officers worked to free the animal, ultimately letting it loose through the rear entrance of the building.
