(KAIR)--A preliminary hearing for an Atchison man accused of sex crimes against a minor child has been continued.
Atchison County Attorney Jerry Kuckelman says the hearing for 37-year-old Charles Philips, which had originally been scheduled for Wednesday, was continued in order to give his attorney more time to review new evidence that had been introduced.
A new hearing date was set for April 17th.
Philips was arrested in January after a police investigation showed that he allegedly sexually abused the female victim multiple times over a three year period, starting in the fall of 2011 when she was 11-years-old.
