(KNZA)--Railroad crossing repairs are planned in Hiawatha.
The city has announced that Union Pacific will be making repairs to the Iowa Street crossing Tuesday, weather allowing.
The crossing will be closed all day so the repairs can be made.
The crossing repairs come after City Commissioner Irv Schwalm urged residents to contact the railroad about the poor condition of the town’s three crossings, which he called a safety hazard.
