(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners awarded bids for steel materials, culverts and a pickup this week.
During a meeting with Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert Commissioners awarded the culvert material bid to Contech Engineered of Lincoln in an amount of $42,668. A bid for steel materials was awarded to Husker Steel of Columbus in the amount of $97,821.
Commissioners awarded a bid for a new pickup for the Road Department to Armbruster Motor Company of Falls City for a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab for $27,472, less the trade-in of $1,100 for a 2001 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab with 285,000 miles. The total cost to the County will be $26,372.
Huppert reported Constructors Incorporated will begin patching for the project on a portion of “The Dustless Highway” next week. Areas of the road will be closed for a few days and traffic will be detoured. The County construction crew has moved to the Stella Southeast Project. The work cannot begin until an environmental group inspects the site for long eared bats in the area.
