(KNZA)—An Oskaloosa Junior High School student is accused of bringing a gun to school. However, it was unloaded and no ammunition was located.
The incident is confirmed by USD 341 officials in a posting on the district's website which states that the weapon was discovered Friday.
The administration of the Oskaloosa Schools were alerted by an unspecified source, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department was contacted, and the gun was found in the unnamed student's backpack.
The district's statement says the student was interviewed and had no intent to cause danger.
There's no immediate word on what, if any charges, the student faces.
