(KTNC)-- The Johnson-Brock School Board approved a pay raise for the district’s non-certified employees during Monday’s meeting.
The board voted 4-0, with members David Bohling and Lonnie Neddenriep not voting, to give classified staff a three-percent raise in the next school year.
In other action Monday, the board approved the final reading of a board policy and appointed Superintendent Jeff Koehler as the district’s Federal and State Programs representative.
The board decided to wait to install new lights at the football field until after the upcoming season.
Koehler told the board that the FFA has received a $5,000 grant, which will be used to purchase a new greenhouse.
The board saw presentations from FBLA students who are going to the national competition at the end of June. Ten Johnson-Brock students will attend the convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
Principal Peyton Lewis provided an enrollment update. There are 325 students in Johnson-Brock schools, 204 in Pre-K through 6th Grade, and 121 in grades 7-through-12.
Koehler says the building addition is on schedule, despite recent rains. He says they hope to have the roof on the building by next week.
