(KLZA) -- The Falls City Public Schools have hired a new North Elementary School Principal.
According to a release from Superintendent Tim Heckinlively, Shawn Emerson will be the new North School Principal and Assessment Director for the 2014-2015 school year.
Emerson received his Masters in Educational Leadership from William Woods University and a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and Physical Education & Health from Northwest Missouri State University.
For the past three years Emerson has been the 7-12 principal and athletic director at South Nodaway R-IV in Missouri. Prior, he spent seven years as a K-12 physical education & health teacher and coach.
Emerson was recognized last year as the Northwest Missouri Emerging Principal of the Year.
Heckinlively says they look forward to the leadership contributions Emerson will bring to the Falls City Public Schools.
