(KTNC) -- The top spellers from Falls City Middle School and Sacred Heart participated in the Richardson County Spelling Bee Tuesday evening at the Middle School.
In the 5th and 6th Grade Division, Falls City Middle School 6th grader Maggie McNeely was the first place speller; second place went to Emily Wertenberger, a 6th grader at Falls City Sacred Heart; Kade Bredemeier was 3rd and Brianna Pfohl was 4th.
In the 7th and 8th Grade Division, the first place speller was Falls City Middle School 8th grader Zachary Petry. Seventh grader Chloe Thompson was second, Jordyn Bomar was 3rd, and Rylie Sailors was 4th.
By placing first in the 7th and 8th Grade Division, Zach Petry will advance to the Midwest Spelling Bee, to be held March 15 in Omaha.
