(KTNC) -- People are being warned not to dump trash along roads in Richardson County, after officials have noticed an increase in the amount of trash being dumped along county roads.
The County Road Department and Sheriff’s Department say the trash being dumped includes furniture, carpeting, and bags of trash found at several locations.
The Sheriff’s Department warns that it is against the law to dump refuse along roadways. Doing so could lead to fines or jail time.
The Sheriff’s Office asks people to call 402-245-2479 if they see anyone dumping trash illegally in the county. They say license plate numbers and vehicle descriptions are helpful in locating those who are dumping the trash.
