(KTNC) -- A Nemaha NRD Board member, who has represented District 10, which includes Falls City, for nearly two decades is resigning from the board.
Ted Godemann submitted his letter of resignation at the end of the NRD Board’s meeting last week. The resignation is effective January 1.
Godemann indicated that he will be moving out of his current sub-district. In his letter to Board Chairman Rob Bohling, Godemann expressed his gratitude to the voters who have given him the opportunity to serve on the board. In his tenure, Godemann served as both vice-chair and chairman of the board as well as the Nemaha NRD's representative to the Five Rivers R-C-and-D.
The board will act to accept Godemann’s resignation next month. They will then advertise for someone to fill the vacancy. Since Godemann is resigning before August 1 of the second year of his term, the person appointed to fill the vacancy will be up for election in November 2014.
