(KLZA)--The Nemaha Natural Resources District Board of Directors has a approved a budget for the new fiscal year with a lower levy.
Directors approved a $4.8-million budget with a levy of just over 3-cents per $100 of assessed valuation. No one from the public spoke during a public hearing on the budget proposal.
The budget includes work to develop a public recreation area at the Duck Creek Dam near Peru. Funds are also included for a groundwater studies intended to help with decision making on updated rules for fair use of groundwater.
