(KNZA)--The Hiawatha City Commission will hold a special meeting Monday evening, and on the agenda is discussion on candidates for the city administrator position.
Monday is the deadline for applications and the League of Kansas Municipalities, which is assisting the city in its search for a new administrator, is to recommend several to the commission for interviews.
The position came open after the commission voted July 29th to terminate the contract with Lynne Ladner who had served as city administrator for just over seven years.
Mayor Crosby Gernon is serving as acting administrator until the position is filled.
The commission will also hold a public hearing on a Community Development Block grant the city plans to seek for the improvement of Lodge Road.
The meeting will begin Monday evening at 5:35 at the Hiawatha City Hall.
