Richardson Co Board Approves 2013-14 Budget

 (KLZA) -- Richardson County Commissioners held two hearings Tuesday concerning budget issues, with no public comment given.

Following the hearings, Commissioners approved the budget of expenditures for the next fiscal year totaling nearly $12.6 million, which represents a 9 percent increase from last year.  The total includes $300,000 for cash reserves.

The total tax requirement is $4,031,816 which is 3.5 percent increase. The total tax levy will be 36.48 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.

Board members said they used approximately $300,000 from the inheritance fund to relieve some need for property taxes.  There is approximately $700,000 remaining in the Inheritance tax fund.
