(KNZA)--Ambulance service becomes a concern in the Doniphan County community of Elwood. That comes as Saint Joseph, Missouri's Heartland Regional Medical Center, which provides service to Elwood, will discontinue service on July 1st of next year.
KQ2 News reports that leaders in the Doniphan County town, that sits just west of the Hospital's Missouri headquarters, have not been a part of the discussion.
While nothing is yet definite, Elwood leaders will explore options, including the possibility of contracting service from the Troy Ambulance District.
