(KLZA) -- The Auburn City Council Monday night approved part of a recreation facility plan presented by Olsson Associates. Mayor Scott Kudrna said the plan was developed to help make better decisions on future recreational needs in the community.
Council members did approve a request from the Historic Preservation Board to seek bids from consulting firms to write a letter of nomination for federal designation. The City has received a grant to help cover the costs of the application for federal historic designation.
Council members took no action on a request to post speed limit signs or Children at Play signs on 14th Street between Highway 75 and P Streets. There was also no action taken on proposals concerning transfer of nuisance properties within the city of Auburn to the City.
Mayor Kudrna did note a problem that has developed since the new recycling dumpsters have been put in use. The City will be looking at steps to stop people from dumping their regular trash into the recycling dumpster.
Auburn Council members approved the re-appointments of Glenna Miller to the Housing Authority and Stephanie Fisher to the Community Redevelopment Authority. Mayor Kudrna also noted that anyone interested in serving on the Auburn Recreation Committee could contact him or City Hall.
