( KNZA )--Beginning Monday, there will be new hours of operation at the Brown County Transfer Station.
With less trash coming into the transfer station, the County Commission Wednesday approved the new hours as a way to cut expenses. The county landfill is funded through user fees.
The new hours will be from 8 to 4 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 8 to noon on Tuesday and Saturday.
There will also be a dumping charge for household hazardous waste.
Currently, the transfer station is open Monday-Friday from 8 to 4:30, and 8 to noon on Saturday.
