(KLZA) Richardson County Commissioners spent most of their time Tuesday meeting as the Board of Equalization hearing protests of property valuations.
More than 240 were filed this year. On Tuesday, beginning at 9 in the morning and continuing until about 9 that evening, the Board heard 133 protests.
During the regular board meeting Tuesday morning, Commissioners met with Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert. Huppert noted the list of rural addressing signs that need to be replaced is being completed so new signs can be ordered and put in place.
The Board approved an agreement with the City of Humboldt regarding maintenance and the sharing of the cost of a bridge.
A list of tax certificates not sold at the annual tax sale held in April was presented. The Board directed the County Treasurer to issue the remaining tax sale certificates to the County upon any real property with delinquent taxes.
The regular weekly meeting lasted less than an hour prior to the start of the property valuation protests.
