(KAIR) -- A 36-year-old Atchison woman has pled guilty to a forgery charge.
Tabitha Schmelzle made the plea Monday in Atchison County District Court as part of a plea deal.
In exchange, a charge of misdemeanor theft was dismissed.
She was arrested in late May by Atchison Police for forging a check at a local convenience store believed to have been taken from a mailbox.
Sentencing is set for July 19th.
Schmelzle was released on a personal recognizance bond on Monday.
