(KMZA)--An Interim Superintendent of Schools for Marysville USD 364 has been selected.
That follows two recent special meetings of the Board of Education.
Named to the position is Doctor Randy Freeman, the Director of Marshall County Special Services, the special education cooperative that serves both the Marysville and Valley Heights school districts.
Freeman was selected from a total of three candidates for the job, with one interviewed May 29th and two others interviewed during the next day's special meeting.
Freeman began work in the district last year, hired by the Board in June, coming to Marysville after serving as Superintendent for Silver Lake.
The school board has directed him to find a replacement to serve as Interim Director of Special Education as he fills the Superintendent's seat.
The board is launching a search to find a full time Superintendent, made necessary following the resignation of Khris Thexton in April.
