Hiawatha Woman Gets More Prison on Contraband Charge
04/30/2013

(KAIR) -- A Hiawatha woman, already serving a prison term after violating probation, gets another prison term for an incident that occurred while she was in Atchison County jail awaiting transport.

Cassandra Hughes was given 10 months for trafficking contraband into a correctional facility Monday in Atchison County District Court.

Atchison County Corrections Officers discovered unauthorized sleep aid tablets in her cell in late February.

The pills were found after her probation had been revoked  stemming from a 2011 possession of narcotics charge.

The prison terms will run consecutively.
