May is Community Action Month in Richardson County

 (KLZA)  Richardson County Commissioners have proclaimed May as Community Action Month in Richardson County.  The proclamation was approved following an update from Southeast Nebraska Community Action representatives Susan Phillips, Stephanie Gerdes and Melissa Hardenberger during the Commissioners meeting Tuesday.  

Falls City High School senior David von Behren and HTRS senior Reba Burgett also attended the meeting information Commissioners their experience with the SENCA Smart Save Financial Literacy program presented in area high schools. 

The annual report from Region V Services was presented by Dave Merrill, Executive Director and C.J. Johnson, Administrator of Region V Systems and Bob Kinghorn, Director of the Auburn SENDS program.

Sealed bids for the purchase of a patrol pickup for the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department were opened.  The only bid received was from Armbruster Motor Company in Falls City for $24,495.  The bid was accepted for further review.  

Commissioners also set a public hearing for Tuesday, April 30th at 11 a-m for input on a Class C liquor license for Cory Snethen & Greg Strickland doing business as Breezy Hill Café & Bar south of Falls City.
