That is Liz Dorland, spokesperson for the American Red Cross in Nebraska and Southwest, Iowa.
Liz Dorland says smart phone and iPad users will be able to get this life saving information before, during and after a tornado. Users can also access a toolkit that includes a flashlight, strobe light and alarm.
The app includes other features like enhanced weather maps and a one-touch "I'm safe" messages that allows users to broadcast reassurance to family and friends that they are out of harms way.
The app includes a high-pitched siren and tornado warning alert that signals users when a tornado warning has been issued for the area. Dorland says there is important preloaded content that will give users important safety information. ( play audio :10 seconds )
