(KAIR) -- A 54-year-old Atchison man is in custody on multiple felony charges stemming from an ongoing investigation.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says officers arrested Fredrick Lockett Wednesday after responding to an alleged shoplifting case in progress at Wal-Mart.

Despite the alleged thefts being less than a thousand dollars in value, Lockett is charged with felony theft since court documents indicate he has two or more prior theft convictions.
He remains in Atchison County Jail on 15 thousand dollars bond.
