( KMZA )- A bridge replacement project is set to begin Monday on K-63 highway in Pottawatomie County about one mile north of Havensville.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says the existing 24-foot wide bridge over Vermillion Creek will be replaced with a 36-foot wide structure.
Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work.
Beginning Monday, K-63 will be closed over the bridge for the duration of the project. Marked detours will be provided.
Drivers should expect delays and must use alternate routes during the bridge closure.
Bridges Inc. of Newton is the primary contractor on the more than $768,000 project. The project is scheduled for completion in late June, weather permitting.
