(KAIR) -- A 74-year-old Atchison man convicted on a child sex charge will head to prison.
Norman Longbrake was sentenced Friday in Atchison County District Court to a total of 24 months on charges of lewd and lascivious behaviors and aggravated intimidation of a witness.
He was arrested in January 2012 by Atchison Police for engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with a nine-year-old girl.
In April while in custody, he offered to buy his son a new vehicle if he agreed to not testify in the case.
In June 2012, Longbrake was sent to Larned State Hospital for a competency evaluation.
He was later found competent to stand trial.
