Doniphan Co Employees Receive Pay Raises

( KNZA )- With the beginning of the new year, Doniphan County employees will see a bigger paycheck.

County commissioners Monday voted to grant hourly employees a 50 cent an hour raise and department heads and elected officials, with the exception of commissioners, a 75 cent hourly raise.  The raises became effective January 1st.

A motion by Commissioner Wayne Grable to grant Register of Deeds Susan Shuster a monthly salary of $100 for technical services provided in the courthouse died due to the lack of a second.

Aging Administrator Julie Simmons presented commissioners with purchase order agreements for the acquisition of two 2013 Dodge Grand Caravans through a Kansas Department of Transportation grant program.  Doniphan County will be responsible for 20 percent of the cost of each van.

Commissioners voted to sign the agreements with KDOT.
