( KNZA )-- Office hours at the Brown County Treasurer’s office will remain the same, despite a request to adjust them.
Treasurer Cheryl Lippold asked county commissioners Friday to be allowed to close her office at 4:30 p.m. to the public, due to the continuing problems with the state’s new motor vehicle computer system.
Lippold said most transactions are now taking 45 minutes each.
The commission decided to leave the treasurer’s office hours as is, with the closing at 4:45 p.m.
In other business, grant writer Virginia Dienstbier and Doug Grimm with Grimm’s Gardens met with commissioners to discuss a grant to improve Goldfinch Road between 290th and 300th Roads.
Brown County is being asked to administer the grant for the Hamlin Township road.
Grimm’s Gardens and Midwest Valley Irrigation are two businesses that would benefit from the project.
And the commission approved the appointment of Jim Gibbs to the Brown County Historical Society Board.
