College Students Urged to Plan Parties
09/01/2012

(KLZA) Student leaders are beginning an ad campaign urging students at three Lincoln colleges to plan their parties and partying so they don't fail some of their college social tests.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska Wesleyan University and Southeast Community College student leaders are rolling out the "Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail" campaign as students arrive for fall classes.

Linda Major is the assistant to the UNL vice chancellor for student affairs. Major says the campaign is aimed at teaching students what they can do to avoid fatal binging, getting date-raped or getting tossed out of football stands.

Organizers say they're not conducting an anti-drinking campaign. The effort is to show partiers how to keep themselves under control and show party hosts how to keep control of their gatherings.
