(KLZA) Falls City High School is one of two school districts in Nebraska to receive a $25,000 Take Aim Grant through the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education program sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.
Farmers are given an opportunity to nominate a public school district in their community to compete for a merit-based grant of either 10-thousand or 25-thousand dollars to enhance education in the areas of math and or science. More than 1,000 nominated school districts submitted applications.
Judy Carter, the Falls City Public School Technology / Curriculum Coordinator wrote the grant application last spring. She explains how Falls City High School plans to use the money. ( play audio :55 seconds )
Carter thanked Monsanto for the money and noted the districts appreciation of the farmers that nominated the Falls City School District for the program. ( play audio :14 seconds )
In Kansas, the Royal Valley and Washington school districts were each awarded a $10,000 grant. In Missouri, Northeast Nodaway received a $10,000 grant.
