Atchison Man Cited for Animal Cruelty

(KAIR) -- A 43-year-old Atchison man was given a notice to appear in court on allegations of cruelty to a dog, which caused severe neck injuries.

Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson explains the allegations.

The victim is a six to seven month old black lab puppy.

Wilson says Animal Control Officer Tanna Ross told him it’s one of the worst animal cruelty cases she’s worked.

The suspect, Robert Bryant, is scheduled to appear in municipal court on August 15th.
