A 28-year-old Atchison man will head to prison after the courts determined he violated his probation on two 2009 burglary convictions.
Joshua Hosier had his probation revoked Friday morning in Atchison County District Court.
This was after he pled guilty to an amended charge of battery, downgraded from aggravated battery.
He was ordered to serve out the sentences on the revoked convictions, which totals 24 months.
He was arrested on May 5th by Atchison Police for striking and hospitalizing 31-year-old Dwight “Dewey” Myers during an altercation on 13th and Commercial.
Later that evening, four others, 45-year old Steven Gilliland, 36-year-old Timothy Pruett, 50-year-old James Myers, and 30-year-old Gary Myers were arrested and later pled guilty to misdemeanor battery for injuring an individual at a residence in rural Atchison County, determined by the courts as a retaliation effort from the previous incident.
Hosier’s six month jail sentence on the battery charge will run concurrent to his prison sentence.
