An Atchison resident wants to warn the general public, namely those with a 367 prefix that you could be scammed like she was last week.
Jennifer Dulac said it started with a phone call from an individual with a middle-eastern accent claiming to be from Microsoft.

The individual said they were receiving unauthorized download warnings because her system was registered.
Dulac says she spoke to Microsoft representatives and Toshiba, the brand of her computer, and this is what they told her.

Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says the volume of scammers around the world make it difficult to track down phone calls and their origin.
He and Sheriff John Calhoon warn that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
