Man Given Probation in Forgery Case

A 19-year-old Platte City man gets probation on two forgery charges Friday in Atchison County Court.

Jonathan Turner was given an 18 months probation, which was suspended from consecutive eight month prison sentences on each count.

He also had a one year jail sentence on a misdemeanor theft charge that runs concurrent, suspended to the probation.

He was arrested March 5th for taking a checkbook belonging to his grandmother and forging her name on a check on two occasions at an Atchison retail store in early February.

He was also ordered to pay one thousand 14 dollars in restitution back to his grandmother.
