A 73-year-old Atchison man will go to jury trial after pleading not guilty to a child sex charge Monday in Atchison County District Court.
The prosecution will present their case against Norman Longbrake on June 26th.
Longbrake was arrested by Atchison police on February 14th and charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
He is accused of allegedly engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with a nine year old girl in January of this year.
A pre-trial conference is set for May 21st.
He remains in the Atchison County Jail on 200 thousand dollars bond.
If convicted, Longbrake faces a mandatory life sentence under terms of Jessica’s Law since the victim is under 14 years of age.
