Man Gets Prison on Worthless Check Charge
04/09/2012

A 41 year old Saint Joseph man will head to prison for writing a pricy worthless check.

Darren Kizziah was sentenced to 10 months in prison for the level nine felony Monday in Atchison County Court.

He was convicted of writing a worthless check to Country Mart in Atchison in August 2007 for one thousand 10 dollars.

County Attorney Gerald Kuckleman invoked the special rule in the case since Kizziah has time to serve in Tennessee on another conviction.

By law, the sentence here in Kansas has to run consecutive to his Tennessee sentence.
