Two Arrested on Theft Charges

 The alleged removal of a theft detection device at the Atchison Wal-Mart leads to the arrest of a Laredo, Texas man Thursday morning.

 Atchison Police Lieutenant Tim Stout says several officers responded to the store around 10:46 and discovered that 31-year-old Arutro Godoy had allegedly taken an MP3 player and had allegedly removed the spider wrap detection device, which is a felony.

 Jesus Ramirez of Arteaga Coahuila, Mexico was also arrested on a misdemeanor theft charge.

 Three officers the searched store inside and out for most of the remainder of the morning looking for suspects.

 Stout says the investigation continues as police continue to look for more individuals believed to be involved.

 Godoy’s bond was set at four thousand dollars and he remains in Atchison County Jail awaiting formal charges.
