Nemaha County Commissioners Discuss Roadside Mowing
03/16/2012

Roadside mowing was a topic of discussion for Nemaha County Nebraska Commissioners this week.
Ed Bredemeier met with the Board regarding revised Nebraska State Laws pertaining to landowners’ responsibility to mow and to maintain hedges and trees along roadsides.
Bredemeier indicated to commissioners that it is also the county’s responsibility to follow the same laws.  Commissioners took Bredemeier’s comments under consideration.
In other business, the Board voted to establish a policy, as recommended by the State Auditor’s office, requiring all county officials and office directors to report an employee’s total number of accumulated hours of earned comp time, and number of accumulated sick days and vacation days to the Board of Commissioners on February First and July First of each year.
Commissioners approved a three-year agreement with the State Auditor’s office to conduct the county’s financial audit at a cost not to exceed $14,000.
C.J. Johnson of Region V Systems, and Dave Merrill and Bob Kinghorn of Region V Services presented their annual reports and fiscal year 2012-12 budget requests.
And Sasha Rightsell presented SENCA’s quarterly report.
