Beatrice Man Arrested After Standoff
A Beatrice man has been taken into custody
after a nearly two-hour standoff with police.
Michael Haney was arrested a little before 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
He was booked into Gage County Jail on suspicion of felony
terroristic threats and misdemeanor domestic assault.
A jailer said Haney remained in custody on Thursday morning.
Online court records don't list the case yet.
Police say a woman called 911 a little before noon Wednesday to
say her husband, Haney, was threatening her while he handled
weapons and ammunition.
Officers set up around the house, and nearby Paddock Lane
Elementary School was locked down as a precaution.
Officers eventually made contact with Haney, and he came out
around 1:45 p.m.
No shots were reported. Officers found four rifles in the house.
