A single-vehicle roll-over accident early Sunday morning in Nemaha County claimed the life of a Manhattan man and injured three others.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Daniel John Schwarz was traveling south on K-63, north of 1st Road, when his pickup truck approached a curve and ran off the road around 1:15 a.m. The pickup rolled in a ditch and came to rest in a field on the driver’s side.
Schwarz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three passengers were injured. 22-year-old Michael Lewis Chase of Beattie was taken by ambulance to the Onaga Hospital. 22-year-old Loralet Prell of Home was flown by Lifestar to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka. 22-year-old Joshua Roady of Marysville was flown by Lifestar to the K-U Medical Center in Kansas City.
The Patrol says none of the four were wearing seat belts.
