The Pawnee City Indians have qualified for the Nebraska Boys State Basketoball tournament with a 50 - 23 victory over Deshler in the D1 District Final.
The second ranked Indian placed third at state in 2011.
Garrett Borcher led Pawnee City with 17 points and a dozen rebounds in the game. Also in double figures was Hadley Sejkora and Devon Marteney. Pawnee City held Deshler scoreless in the second quarter building a 19 point halftime lead.
Pawnee City is expected to be the third seed in the D1 tournament and will likely play West Boyd at 3:45 p-m at Lincoln East High School in the first round on Thursday, March 8th.
