The Auburn City Council Monday night approved a contract with Todd Zeilinger of Denton, Nebraska to serve as the Keno Operator. He is working with Hickory Road Barbecue to get the Keno operation up and going in the community. Auburn Mayor Scott Kudrna said this is a good fund-raiser for the City, explaining some of the upside. ( play audio :24 seconds )
The Auburn Council also approved use of up to $63,000 in current Keno funds to help the Auburn School District which operates the theater in Auburn, purchase a new projector and possibly new seating in the near future. Mayor Kudrna explains. ( play audio 1:17 )
Voting nay on the use of the Keno funds were Council members Frank Critser and Shawn Clark.
Following a public hearing the Auburn Council also approved adoption of a proprietary budget for the Auburn Board of Public Works. Mayor Kudrna explains the reasons for the change.
