The parking lot at the Nemaha County Training Center in Seneca will be replaced.
The Nemaha County Commission Tuesday accepted the low bid from AHRS Construction of Bern to remove and replace the parking lot with a six inch concrete paving and to remove and replace the sidewalk as well at a total cost of $75,560.
Four bids were received.
NCTC Director Alice Lackey told the commission she will also need to talk about the Sabetha training center parking lot sometime later as well.
In other business, representatives of the city of Seneca met with the commission to discuss the amount the county charges the city for dispatch services.
The city currently pays 30 percent of the dispatch salaries and benefits to the county for dispatching services.
Mayor Joe Mitchell said he feels the amount is to high since the city doesn’t need dispatch services for ambulance calls anymore with the county taking over the service as of January 1st.
The commission told the city representatives they’re considering charging the city for the office space utilized by Seneca police officers at the county law enforcement center.
They will also look at the percentage that the city pays for dispatch service and get back to the city.
