Sabetha 50 - Royal Valley 36
Kayla Renyer followed up her 25 point outing against Santa Fe Trail with another double-double at Royal Valley Tuesday. She scored 17 points while the Lady Jays outscored RV 35-14 in the middle two periods to pull away for their fourth straight victory. Meggie Hall chipped in 11 and Jacquie Frey added 9 as each hit a pair of treys. Royal Valley got 17 points from Chelsea Hodison and 11 from Mara Winer in the defeat. The Lady Panthers are now 7-10 overall and 5-7 in league play after losing for the fifth time in six games.
BOYS
Sabetha 40 - Royal Valley 37
After a back and forth first frame, Troy Matson caught fire and hit four treys to give Sabetha a 29-24 halftime advantage. Despite making only two field goals and scoring just 11 points in the second half, the Jays held on for a three-point win. Sabetha boys have now won 7 consecutive games and are 9-0 this season in games decided by 8 or fewer points! Matson finished with 17 points while sophomore Skyler Link came off the Panther bench to led RV with 15. Royal Valley boys have lost four straight games and are now 10-7 overall and 6-6 in the Big 7.
