An appointed, local State Representative, decides to seek election to the seat he currently holds, filing for the position on his 38th birthday.
Holton Republican Trent LeDoux, who serves the Kansas 50th district, announced Thursday that he will seek to retain that position(Play Audio :15 seconds) LeDoux says among his goals is bringing fiscal sense to the state, while seeing that constituent needs, specifically those of the elderly, are being met(Play Audio :24 seconds) LeDoux, who was appointed last year to fill the unexpired term of the late Rocky Fund, is a fourth-generation rancher who still operates the ranch homesteaded by his great -grandfather, southwest of Holton. He also served for ten years as Jackson County Republican Chairman. LeDoux is challenged for the house seat by fellow Republican Dan Brenner. The business owner, from Holton, announced his bid for election last week. Candidates have until Noon June First to file. The primary election will be held in August followed by the general election in November.
