Horton Man Enters Into Plea Agreement In Three Cases
02/07/2012

A rural Horton man charged with ten counts in three separate cases has entered into a plea agreement.
In first case, 22-year-old Ryan Shopteese pleaded no contest in Brown County District Court Monday to charges of felony theft, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and misdemeanor criminal damage to property.
In exchange for the plea, two other counts--felony obstructing official duty and failure to report an accident—were dismissed.
In the case, Shopteese was charged with leading police on a pursuit last November after stealing a vehicle from a Horton resident.
In the second case, two felony counts of criminal threat were dismissed against Shopteese.  In that case, Shopteese was accused of threatening two jailers following his arrest in the first case.
And in the third case, Shopteese plead no contest to a felony count of criminal threat.  In exchange for the plea, an additional count of criminal threat and charge of criminal damage to property was dismissed.
Sentencing was set for March 5th.
